Stojanovic: Serbs will not be decoration in the Government (KiM Radio)

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic says that representatives of the Srpska will not serve as “decoration” in the Pristina authorities and would withdraw from the government if that happens.

“Ahead of us is complete and ruthless struggle for Serbian interests. The first time that all Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija entered uniquely, if once we start serving as a decor or form, I will leave the government,” said Stojanovic.

According to him, the priority will be to coordinate the views of the two ministries held by Serbs with other ministries in the government of Kosovo, because, as he noted, without each other they cannot achieve the planned tasks.

His goal is, he added, to provide a better and safer life for all Serbs, whether in the north, or southern Kosovo and he sees in Belgrade the most important ally.

Stojanovic, who immediately after the election of the Assembly of Kosovo resigned as mayor of Gracanica, states that ahead is the formation of the Community/Association of Serbian Municipalities (ZSO), the establishment of the Special Court for war crimes, the continuation of dialogue and resolution of current, not small problems that for years push the Serbs to the margins.

As he pointed out, the Albanian coalition partners gave written guarantees that the ZSO will be formed.

“In accordance with the Brussels Treaty, the formation of the ZSO is inevitable, namely drafting the statute, so I will not doubt, despite the rumours that the initialled agreement will not be implemented,” said Stojanovic.

Asked does he worry that over the next four years of his mandate it can happen that Belgrade relents and that Serbs fully integrate into the system of Pristina, Stojanović says that “the basic need of the Serbs is that Belgrade is present” in Kosovo.

“I will say this clearly and in Pristina. It is crystal clear to everyone, and the Albanians and the international community, that the presence of the Serbian state in Kosovo will never diminish an inch,” said Stojanovic.
