Mustafa assumes post of prime minister (Zeri)
The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, has taken on the post of prime minister after his predecessor, Hashim Thaci, handed over his post in an official ceremony. On the occasion, Thaci said that he changed Kosovo during his last two mandates while Mustafa said the new government has taken on great responsibilities and promised economic growth during his term in office.
Government’s priorities: Law on KAF and special court (dailies)
The Government of Kosovo will carry out its obligations, said the new Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, in the first meeting of his cabinet. “We have taken on the responsibility in a sensitive situation for Kosovo. We will be committed to economic development, European integration”, said Mustafa adding that the new executive will also focus on passing the legislation for establishment of the Kosovo Armed Forces and the Special Court.
Mustafa meets Jacobson in his first official duty (Koha)
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, met yesterday US Ambassador, Tracey Ann Jacobson, in his first official duty since taking on the new post. Jacobson congratulated Mustafa on election and pledged continued US support for Kosovo. At the same time, Mustafa said the close cooperation with the US will continue.
Thaci aims to secure recognitions from two-thirds of UN states (Koha)
Koha writes that even in his new post as Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has begun communication to the public through social networks, namely Facebook. In a post he said that Kosovo diplomacy will focus on increasing the number of recognitions and strengthening Kosovo’s international position. “Kosovo diplomacy will aim and work on this mandate to achieve the recognition from two-thirds of UN member states”, wrote Thaci. It will, furthermore, remain committed to achieving full normalization of relations with Serbia and continuing dialogue that, according to Thaci, will end in mutual recognition.
