EU not interested in introducing new topics to the dialogue

Official Brussels is not interested in introducing new economy topics to the dialogue between Kosovo and Belgrade. Whereas representatives of Kosovo and Serbia have said that economy topics should be introduced in the negotiations.

Kosovo officials have announced that old debts and the division of the succession should be discussed in the dialogue but the Serbian side intends to open for discussion the privatization fund and the selling of the socially owned enterprises in Serb majority areas.

Spokesperson of EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Maja Kocijancic told KTV that EU’s focus is in resuming the dialogue and the implementation of the agreements reached so far.

Meanwhile international law professor Agim Hoti said that Kosovo institutions should be prepared to discuss about the old debts and the division of the former Yugoslavia assets.

On the other hand Ibrahim Rexhepi from ‘Strass’ Institute said that both topics are important for Kosovo and should be sorted quickly.

Thaçi: Agreement with LDK will be fully respected

Deputy Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi pledged that the agreement between PDK and LDK will be implemented entirely and that the government will stable.

In an interview for ‘Radio Free Europe’ Thaçi said that he will cooperate with opposition parties for the interest of Kosovo. Thaçi did not comment if they have an agreement for the President of Kosovo post after Atifete Jahjaga’s mandate expires.

He emphasized that the new government has a lot of work in fighting organized crime and corruption. Additionally Thaçi considered as key challenger for the new government the establishment of the special tribunal.

Çollaku: No EU country grants asylum to Kosovars

Kosovo European integration Minister Bekim Çollaku has reacted to the recent wave of Kosovars trying to migrate illegally to Western countries.

In an interview for ‘Express’ Çollaku said that illegal migration is not a solution because no EU country grants asylum to Kosovars. He called on Kosovo citizens not to become victims of criminal groups, who are promoting and enabling this illegal activity for their personal profit.

Limaj calls on Mustafa to decrease the number of deputy ministers

Nisma për Kosovën chairperson Fatmir Limaj requested from Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa not to appoint a large number of deputy ministers as it has been announced.

Limaj in his personal Facebook account expressed concerned with the appointment of 70 deputy ministers and reminded Mustafa’s electoral promise for a smaller cabinet of minister.
