The minority communities in Kosovo lack capacities to participate effectively in policy and decision-making processes, writes Koha citing a report published by the European Union Office in Prishtina. The report also notes that the minority communities face additional barriers due to their continued marginalization, and, their lack of integration in society and institutions.

Director of the EU Office for minority issues in Kosovo, Adrian Zeqiri, said that this report has come as a result of the completion of a two year project “Strengthening civil society to participate effectively in the processes of policy-making and decision-making, through dialogue with governmental institutions”. According to Zeqiri, about 40 organizations from Serbian and Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian (RAE) communities were involved in the project. One of them is also “Network of RAE Women Organizations” which deals with promotion of rights of women and their inclusion in education and employment.
