Kosovo’s Minister of Education, Science and Technology Arsim Bajrami attended the conference: “Best practices for children who drop out of school” organized by UNICEF and Kosovo Pedagogical Institute, within the program “On equal opportunities in education”.

“The Ministry of Education in collaboration with UNICEF will work on the design of specific strategies and policies to prevent abandonment and migration,” said Bajrami. Bajrami on this occasion said that Kosovo has developed a legislative framework and policies that are favorable for the registration and education of children, but inclusion and school dropout are a global problem, which can be overcome only by creating special programs stimulating for all, especially for children of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians. Head of UNICEF in Kosovo, Laila Omar Gad said, “Progress in eliminating school dropout can only be achieved through data collection and identification of causes that prevent children to enroll or stop schooling.”
