Opposition to protest over Trepca (Koha Ditore)

Article 3, point 11.3 of the draft law for the amendment of the existing Law on public enterprises urged on Friday a harsh debate between the governing coalition and the opposition parties of the Assembly of Kosovo. The amendment gives municipalities a decision-making role for the public enterprises, which according to the opposition would grant the northern municipalities of Kosovo a significant role on the fate of Trepca mine, thereofre they warned with protests. Governing coalition on the other hand rejected these accusations, claiming that the contested part of the draft law will be amended during the second hearing.

Bota Sot also notes that the warnings for spring protests represent a serious threat for the government of Kosovo.

 Decisions of the parallel courts will not be annulled (Koha Ditore)

The paper notes that the signing parties of the agreement between Pristina and Belgrade in Brussels did not clarify the fate of the verdicts reached so far by the parallel courts in the north of Kosovo. A few days ago, while reporting to the governing cabinet, the Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuci, made it clear that except for the signed agreement, they also reached a settlement on the validity of the decisions of the parallel courts on property and civilian contests, which according to him, can be appealed.

Termkolli returns to LDK (dailies)

All dailies report that Kosovo Assembly Deputy, Melihate Termkolli, will leave today the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), to return to the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). Asked about this issue by Kosova Press news agency, Termkolli said “so you already have the information, it remains to see you tomorrow.” AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj also wrote on his Facebook profile that he is informed about Melihate Termkolli’s decision. “I thank her for the cooperation and wish her success,” he wrote. Termkolli is the second deputy that has left AAK this year.

 Ymeri to present his candidacy this Sunday (Koha)

Visar Ymeri, will be presented today to the Vetevendosje members, as the candidate for the leader of this political party. The ceremony will be held at the red hall of the Youth Palace. “The candidate for the leader, Visar Ymeri, has submitted all the required documentation and signatures for the internal elections of Vetevendosje Movement. The General Election Commission has approved an activity where Ymeri would present his plan for engagement and changes during the next years,” is written in a press release of this party. This communique notes that at the end of the ceremony, party members can make questions to the running candidate.

 Hungary marks decrease of migrants from Kosovo (Koha)

The Hungarian Police has published today data which show that the number of the individuals who have entered Hungary illegally with the intention to migrate to the West, has decreased. During the last 24 hours, the police caught 425 individuals who were trying to enter Hungary illegaly, which shows a slight decrease compare to the past days. The Hungarian Police also initiated the procedure against 7 individuals for human trafficking and forging documents.
