Judges in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija have constitutionally guaranteed permanence of judicial office. The judiciary must be organized in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia.

The court system forms part of a single legal order and must be organized in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia, said today the Judges Association of Serbia on the decision of the Constitutional Court to reject the proposal to review the constitutionality and legality of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina in that field.

The statement said that the judges in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija have constitutionally guaranteed permanence of judicial office, which cannot stop because of the abolition of the court or refusal to perform judicial functions in the courts located outside the court system of the Republic of Serbia.

As noted, the Assembly of Judges of Serbia on 8 December made a conclusion about the uniqueness of the judicial system of Serbia.
