SNS MP, Momir Stojanovic said that he had heard that for him was issued “red” Interpol warrant but that he hopes the reaction of the Serbian state.

“I hope that I have a state that will decide about such an arrest warrant, because aim of this warrant is to intimidate Serbs to return to Kosovo and Metohija and seize their properties,” said Momir Stojanovic, who is the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for the control of the security services, reports Tanjug.

Stojanovic explained that the warrant has to do with the decision of the UN to establish a tribunal for crimes of the KLA in Kosovo, and that the Basic Court in Gjakova/Djakovica, where he was born, filed a criminal complaint against 17 Serbs, including him.

He is confident that there will be more such charges in the cities of Kosovo and all, he says, in order to mitigate the effects of the formation of that court.

He assessed as inappropriate that the Municipal Court announces a “red” warrant, noting that he is proud of everything he did and that he has no intention to be put in a position to defend himself.

Stojanovic explained that from 1993 to 1996, he was deputy chief of security of the Pristina Forces and it’s Chief until 1999.

Interpol has issued a warrant for Stojanovic because he allegedly committed crimes against the civilian population.
