Upon the invitation of the European Union, Minister for Dialogue of the government of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri is staying in Brussels where yesterday she had meetings with representatives of the European Union engaged in dialogue in Brussels. The central topic of the discussions was the assessment of achievements to date and determining priorities for the progress of dialogue in Brussels in the following stage.
In the meeting were discussed the achievements and challenges of this process and was expressed mutual commitment to speed up the process of implementation of all agreements of Brussels. It is estimated the importance of continuing the dialogue especially considering creating new momentum after reaching an agreement on justice between the two Prime Ministers and the senior EU Representative, Ms Federica Mogherini.
Dialogue Minister Edita Tahiri, on this occasion said that the government of Kosovo considers that the implementation of agreements of the dialogue is a priority issue adding that the agreement reached in justice is a resumption of dialogue, but its implementation should be quick and not to allow chronic delays that Serbia did it this process. She also requested to accelerate the process of extinguishing the structure of so-called “civil defence”, while ensuring that the plan to integrate the former members of this structure in the civil institutions of Kosovo is prepared by the Kosovo government. Minister Tahiri has asked the EU not to further delay removing of the barricade of the Iber Bridge and others, because this issue is within the competence of the EU, according to the agreement.
Minister Tahiri asked specifically extinguishing of all parallel municipal structures by Serbian side by presenting EU recent developments in this area. She emphasized that the functioning of municipal legal structures in northern Kosovo is hampered by interference from Serbia where in particular has emphasized that if northern municipalities don’t adopt, legal budgets will face legal consequences and budget blocking.
She also requested the EU commitment in fast and effective implementation of all agreements including telecom, energy, etc.

Delegation of the Republic of Kosovo was composed of Minister Edita Tahiri, Gazmir Raci and Elona Cecelia political advisers to Minister Tahiri and Valon Murtezaj, political advisor to Prime Minister Isa Mustafa.
