Ambassador of Norway, Jan Bratu visited the Municipality of Gracanica and with the Mayor Vladeta Kostic spoke about current issues and projects for employment.

After the meeting, Bratu said that Mayor informed him about the development plans of the local government. Bratu promised assistance of the Embassy of Norway in Pristina for the Ecological and Energy efficiency project.

“Mayor Kostic informed me about the development plans of the municipality and I have promised assistance within our means. We will support ecological and energy-efficient design for LED street lighting. In order to help, we will allocate 60 thousand euros. The specific project costs more, but this is what I can promise,” said Bratu.

Gracanica Mayor, Vladeta Kostic said that he informed the Norwegian Ambassador with the development plan of the municipality and numerous projects to be implemented in the future.

“We talked about certain projects related to employment, i.e. the creation of new jobs. We agreed that we have come to a common problem. The question is how to frame legally a company, bearing in mind that in Kosovo still did not begin to live a system, i.e., a way of establishing public-private partnerships. The municipality is unable to register companies which would deal with the real sector, namely, any production and thus employ people. So it all boils down to the investment side, and investment in the sphere of private business,” said Kostic.

Speaking to reporters at the end of the meeting, Vladeta Kostic and Jan Bratu stated that the Embassy of Norway and the municipality of Gračanica would cooperate and in the future.
