Kosovo assembly Speaker, Kadri Veseli, held today a meeting with the representatives of the local and international economic institutions as well as the representatives of businesses. The intention of the meeting was creation of the required legal basis, that would establish a suitable environment for the free economic initiative.
Veseli said that this and the other meetings that will become regular are led by the idea of creating a group of advisers which would provide direct inputs on the situation of the private sector in Kosovo, as well as identify further steps for the improvement of the existing situation.
He stressed that the consensus to give priority to the economy, creation of new jobs and improvement of the trade balance of Kosovo, has already been reached. “As the Speaker of the Assembly, I will engage to create the legal basis and remove bureaucratic barriers in order to create a suitable environment for the free economic initiatives. It is vital for the legislation to be inducer for the businesses and not to strangle it,” said Veseli adding that there will be continuous reporting on the progress reached by the received inputs. He stressed that they will focus on legislation and implementation of the law.
