In the pogrom, which lasted from March 17 to 19, 2004, a total of 4,000 Serbs were expelled, ethnic cleansing was carried out in six towns and 10 villages, and many churches and monasteries were burnt down.
Even today Serbs in KiM are not free, and this is best proved by the very few Serbs left in Metohija, who live in fear and under great pressures every day, Djuric said in an interview for the Pristina-based weekly Jedinstvo.
He noted that five years before March 17, hundreds of thousands of Serbs were expelled from KiM.
“There are practically no Serbs in all major cities in KiM, but no one has been held accountable in criminal, moral or political sense,” he underlined.
“It is very important for us that all persons, who took part in the pogrom, war crimes and expulsion of Serbs from KiM, should be brought to justice,” Djuric said.
