The Community/Association of Serbian municipalities is a form of association and cannot be a non-governmental organization, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said in Pristina on Wednesday.
The only thing that the Pristina government has always stressed as important is that the Serbs in Kosovo cannot be organized in a way similar to that of Republika Srpska (the Serb entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina), Dacic told reporters after the end of an informal ministerial conference on infrastructure projects in the Western Balkans in Pristina.
Commenting on a statement by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who said that Albania and Kosovo would unite through their entry into the European Union, Dacic said that the “statement about the national unification of Albanians is targeted at the electorate.”
“Every nation can say that they will become united by joining the EU,” the Serbian foreign minister said.
Dacic said that one should therefore hold one’s horses and make sure they were not pursuing the policy of “one step forward, two steps back” when it came to important issues in the Western Balkans.
