The establishment of direct contact between Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa was a “positive step,” said EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini

Mogherini told a joint press conference with Kosovo Prime Minister Mustafa in Pristina that the agreements reached in the Brussels-based dialogue had to be implemented.

She also said she expected the Kosovo assembly to adopt a decision to set up a special court for war crimes.

Asked whether the EU would condition Serbia with “recognizing Kosovo” at the end of the dialogue process, Mogherini said:

“I think that we we get to integrations to the EU, we will have several political conditions. The EU is for Kosovo and Serbia being together in the EU. We are for as much cooperation between you as possible.”

Mogherini said that Kosovo and the EU would most likely sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement during the summer, adding that they were expecting a visa liberalization progress report.

Mogherini will be in Belgrade on Friday where she will be received by President Tomislav Nikolic, PM Aleksandar Vucic and FM Ivica Dacic. It is expected that the main topic of their meetings will be the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and implementation of what has been agreed.
