Kosovo’s President, Atifete Jahjaga, on Monday met with Romanian State Senator, Gabriela Cretu, and advisers of the Romanian Prime Minister and Members of Romanian Parliament. Jahjaga briefed the Romanian delegation on the efforts of Kosovo institutions to strengthen democracy and the rule of law, to build a free market economy and to consolidate the presence of Kosovo in the international arena. Jahjaga also spoke about the European perspective and the importance that it carries a unifying agenda for the stability of Kosovo and the entire region. In between, President Jahjaga mentioned the constructive role that Kosovo played to be a factor of peace and stability in the region.

The Romanian delegation is staying in Kosovo in a visit organized by the British Council and the Open Society Foundation, in an effort to develop relationships between states that have not yet recognized Kosovo’s independence.
