Tahiri: Civil Protection staff won’t be integrated into security institutions (Zeri)
Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio, Edita Tahiri, told Zeri that members of the Civil Protection will not be integrated into Kosovo’s security institutions, but only in civil institutions. “These individuals will not be part of the Kosovo Police or the Kosovo Security Force, but will be integrated only into civil institutions,” Tahiri said. She said that this agreement is part of the process to dissolve the parallel structures in northern Kosovo, and that it is necessary to integrate these individuals. According to the agreement, she added, members of the Civil Protection are obliged to abandon the premises they have been using for the last 16 years in the north and to hand over all their equipment to Kosovo institutions. Tahiri also noted that the agreement signed between Pristina, Belgrade and Brussels has the power of an international agreement, and as such, the international community should assist in its fulfillment.

Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio and chief negotiator, Edita Tahiri, has travelled to Brussels where, she stressed, she will not negotiate new topics but press for the implementation of agreements reached so far with Belgrade. “I will seek an acceleration of the issue of the telephone code, implementation of telecom agreement in general, and we will have talks on speeding up the process of implementation in the energy sector,” said Tahiri.
Constitutional Court delays special court (Zeri)
The paper on its front page writes that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, already three weeks after receiving constitutional amendments that allow the establishment of the special court, has still not taken a decision on the matter. On the other hand, opposition parties say that these amendments should be rejected. However, in their view, the Constitutional Court will not take a fair decision. Zgjim Hyseni, a senior member of Vetevendosje, told the paper that given the previous decisions of the Constitutional Court, which in his view were in the service of the ruling party, people cannot expect that this time this court will reject the amendments that enable the establishment of a special court.
Jahjaga receives delegation of Kosovo-France Friendship Group (dailies)
The President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, met on Tuesday with a delegation of the Kosovo-France Friendship Group of France’s National Assembly, with whom she discussed current developments in Kosovo. Jahjaga briefed the delegation about Kosovo’s achievements and challenges in the fields of rule of law, combating crime and corruption, irregular migration and economic development. Jahjaga said that Kosovo is expanding its international presence by becoming a member of a large number of international organisations, including the Francophonie, and is now aiming at membership in the Council of Europe.
Israeli ambassador in Belgrade to visit Kosovo today (KosovaPress)
Israeli Ambassador in Belgrade, Yossef Levy, will visit Kosovo today. Levy is expected to meet with Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli and the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) Ramush Haradinaj.
