Constitution Day marked

There are seven years since the adoption of Kosovo Constitution. A solemn ceremony was organized to mark this Day.

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga said that the Constitution of Kosovo is the most modern Constitution of this start of the century. Jahjaga said that she feels proud with extension of the Constitution throughout the whole territory of Kosovo.

“Our inspiring and aspiring constitution promotes all-inclusiveness, law and order, democratization and tolerance between all the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and it is up to us, representatives of the citizens of this state, to make sure that this vision is enlivened,” President Jahjaga stated.

In the ceremony marking the Constitution Day, Prime Minister Isa Mustafa underlined that Kosovo institutions will extend sovereignty throughout the territory of Kosovo.

“We will exercise sovereignty over the entire territory of Kosovo, but, we will also use this sovereignty to create better life for our citizens, all those, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender or any other affiliation,” Mustafa said.

Riza Smaka of AAK and one of the compilers of this document said that Constitution contains many errors and problematic formulations.

On the other hand, AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj said that the entire Kosovo justice system contains defects.

Stojanovic complaints about non-inclusion of Serbs in key institutions

Kosovo Serbs have intensified their joint meetings. One such meeting was organized by the Serb political and civil society representatives on Tuesday in Gracanica/Graçanicë.

The Serb with the most senior political position in Kosovo Government, Branimir Stojanovic, complained that situation of his compatriots is not good.

“Rights of the Serbs are not respected. Justice system is not functional. We do not have our people in key institutions, starting from the Police and Prosecution. There are processes that can jeopardize are remaining in Kosovo and the only salvation I see is the establishment of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities,” Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic stated.

Stojanovic and Srpska List that have abandoned Kosovo institutions for two months now, say that they have a plan how to remain in Kosovo.

Serbian liaison officer to Kosovo Dejan Pavicevic was also seen at this meeting, but he was part of the audience.

Meanwhile, the EU senior official in Kosovo Christof Stock, who took the floor, considered the debate as positive.

Addressing the debate over Skype, Gerard Galluci, a former UNMIK official, accused Europe for situation in Kosovo.

Albanians were not present in this meeting; therefore, Srpska List MP Sasa Milosavljevic called on organizers not to organize similar debates without the presence of Albanians.

Kostic: Association of Serb Municipalities important for political stability

Association of Serb Municipalities will regulate the fields that are of importance for survival of Serb community in Kosovo. This was stated by the chairperson of Civic Initiative Srpska, Vladeta Kostic to RTK2 morning programme.

He underlined that members of Srpska List will soon come out with a stance regarding their participation in Kosovo institutions. He added that establishment of the Association of Serb Municipalities is also important for perseveration of the political stability.

He called on Kosovo officials to amend Kosovo Constitution and Laws and categorize Association of Serb Municipalities as one of the institutions. According to him, this would enable the Association to have executive functions.

Seventy-one public officials did not declare their property

(Klan Kosova, TV21)

Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency (KACA) published the list of 71 senior public officials that have not declared their property. They did not give any justification for this, while four other officials justified non-declaration of their property saying that they are currently for cure abroad or in detention.

Out of 4.200 officials that were obliged to declare their property, 4.125 of them did this, or about 98.3 per cent.
