Pascal Roux, president of the French consortium MDP Consulting said that their intention is not to deal with the politics, but to make modern ski centre Brezovica. “It is true that we are on the territory with the intensive history. However, our project is multi-ethnic and should contribute to reconciliation.”

He said that together with Ski Centre should be developed agriculture, building and providing services,… “We will create conditions that region become attractive.”

French businessman said that he is having intention to speak with the local authorities. “Now we have a contract and we will speak with the representatives and citizens of Strpce municipality. They know their mountain, territory and history. People should know that we want to work with them. We need them all,” said Roux.

However, the workers of Ski Centre Brezovica have different opinion. “They want to demolish all Serbian property, above all hotel Molika and ski lifts, during the period of three years. During that time we cannot work, since we will not have guests. We are particularly afraid because of the credibility of the mentioned consortium, behind which, as we learned, is the owner- rich Albanian business man, Bexhet Pacolli,” stated workers.

They are particularly unsatisfied with the Mayor Bratislav Nikolic, who didn’t use the right to veto the signed contract. “We suspect that Serbian state top has the right information what is happening here. It will be questionable if we will be able to return our property if they really lease it on 99 years,” said the workers fearing that they will have to move out with their families, if they stay without the job.
