Two years have passed since the Agreement on normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia was reached.  However, not all the points of this Agreement, which was signed on 19 April 2013 in Brussels, have been implemented. The opposition parties consider this agreement harmful for Kosovo.

Vetëvendosje Movement chairmanship member, Zgjim Hyseni, said that this Agreement should be invalidated.

On the other hand, AAK caucus leader Donika Kadaj-Bujupi sees the former Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi as the directly responsible person for negotiating and signing this Agreement.

According to her, Thaçi did not manage to use negotiations to strengthen Kosovo’s statehood and to facilitate the EU integration process.

Deputy foreign minister of Kosovo, Petrit Selimi, said that Belgrade is impeding achievement of key objectives of the Agreement.

Belgrade officials say that Serbian side has met all its obligations, while it remains on Prishtinë/Pristina to fulfil six out of 15 points of the Agreement, one of the first being the Association of Kosovo Serb Municipalities.

Serbian foreign minister Ivica Dacic said that his Kosovo counterpart Hashim Thaçi cannot visit Belgrade.

In an interview with Serbia daily Politika Dacic gave different reasons why one such visit cannot happen.

“He cannot come to Serbia at the foreign minister’s capacity,” Dacic underlined in this interview.

According to him, if Thaçi would visit Belgrade as the capacity of Kosovo foreign minister than Serbian government’s police on Kosovo would be breached.

Furthermore, Dacic said that the announcement for Thaçi’s visit was just a provocation.

The Executive Director of Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) Besnik Tahiri says that municipalities should urgently start implementation of capital projects.

Tahiri considers that if they continue to prolong implementation of capital projects like this than the municipalities will have surpluses during this year.
