Kosovo’s Deputy Minister of Justice, Lirak Celaj, reported on Monday to the Committee on the Rights and Interests of Communities and Returns on the structure of judges and prosecutors in the judicial system. Celaj said that the Justice Agreement between Pristina and Belgrade was a significant achievement for justice, which according to him, it will integrate the Serb community in Kosovo institutions, particularly the judiciary.
“Agreement for justice provides full implementation of the legislation of Kosovo and the functionalization of a unique system in the entire territory of Kosovo, including the north. Unique system of justice and enforcement of legislation throughout the territory of Kosovo, ensures that all citizens that they will have equal access to justice wherever they live in Kosovo “, said Çelaj.
“The first concrete step of integration of Serbian judges and prosecutors has happened with the opening of job vacancies for 48 judges and 15 prosecutors on 25 March. This step will accelerate the process of integration of Serbian judges and prosecutors in Kosovo justice system. Kosovo institutions are making continuous efforts to make a multiethnic system “, he added.
