The Association of the Families of Kidnapped and Murdered Serbs has said that the announced platform for Kosovo “is the last hope for the kidnapped.”
The platform should be presented by President Tomislav Nikolic.
The association believes that the document should demand that “Europe and the U.S. order the leaders of the KLA to free kidnapped Serbs.”
“No previous government, or presidents and prime ministers of Serbia, in their many platforms and revolutions about Kosovo and Metohija, ever demanded that kidnapped Serbs be freed and returned to their families,” the association said, and added:
“They showed no interest in kidnapped Serbs and in that way demonstrated that beside the international community and the Hague Tribunal, as well as the EULEX court, they too were ignoring Serb victims.”
The association called on the president to show that the state of Serbia and the Serbian government see the lives of Serbs kidnapped in Kosovo and Metohija as “key,” and noted that 2,108 ethnic Albanians had been freed from Serbian jails.
