State leaders are setting red lines to the demands that lead to the recognition of Kosovo’s independence. Nikolic: If they continue to seek from us to recognize Kosovo, it means that they do not want us. Dacic: Now they impose on us and the respect of the “the spirit of the Brussels Treaty”

Serbia will not fulfil Kosovo’s conditions that were not agreed in Brussels, which are additionally placed on the list of demands for the opening of the first negotiating chapters with the EU – said sources of the Serbian national leadership for Vecernje Novosti.

According to the interpretations of Belgrade, Serbia was imposed with tasks that were not negotiated, through the back door, which interfered the territorial integrity of Serbia and confirmed unrecognized Kosovo’s statehood.

In particular, it is expected to completely surrender control of artificial reservoir “Gazivode” to Pristina (of which the largest part is in the territory of central Serbia), to agree to area code for Kosovo without our intermediation, as well as to removal of the “Peace Park” on the bridge in Mitrovica …

Conditions do not end here, according to our national leadership, because Serbia still has no knowledge on what it will be asked for in the chapter 35 (on Kosovo) and whether a request will be set directly, to agree to Kosovo’s independence, or it will be “disguised”.

On the other hand, for the state top is completely incomprehensible, why Belgrade is asked to fulfil the so-called spirit of the Brussels Treaty and its interpretation, and the Albanians have not even implemented what explicitly was agreed – the formation of Community/Association of Serbian municipalities (ZSO).

Pristina, even yesterday without explanation cancelled the scheduled meeting of working groups in Brussels on a draft statute of the ZSO, which according to the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric, was a gross violation of the Brussels Treaty.

Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic told Novosti that liabilities assumed by the Treaty in Brussels for Serbia were not disputed, as we behave honestly, as a responsible country that does not play “double game”:

– But we see now that we are imposed the obligations that are allegedly in “the spirit and implementation” of the agreement, and that there is no pressure on Pristina, although it failed to fulfil the commitments made.

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic believes that the most important condition for the entry of Serbia into the EU will be recognition of the independence of Kosovo, to which Serbia will never agree:

– If the EU continues to insist on recognition, it will mean that they do not want us in their composition. In such a situation our conscience will be clean, because everyone will know that we have done everything to become an EU member.
