Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister, Ivica Dačić, today met in Belgrade with the head of UNMIK Farid Zarif in light of the reviewing a regular quarterly report on the work of the UN mission in Kosovo at the UN Security Council’s session, which is set to take place on 26 May in New York.

Both sides underlined very good cooperation between Serbia and UN Mission in Kosovo.

Dačić stressed the key importance of UNMIK’s role for Serbia, being that its mandate is based on the UN SC Resolution 1244, which is a guarantor of the status neutrality of the international presence in Kosovo.

Having in mind the overall security and political situation in Kosovo, and continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, engagement of UNMIK in all issues of importance for the implementation of UN SC Resolution 1244 was particularly underlined, communicated Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.

Both sides have also agreed on importance of the non-reduced presence of UNMIK, considering the trust in the work of this mission amongst the Serbian and other non-Albanian population in Kosovo
