The President of the non-parliamentary Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Cedomir Jovanovic assessed today that President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic is jeopardizing the future of the country with his statements about Serbia’s undetermined position and with platform on Kosovo, which according to him, is not based on reality.
“The latest statement of Tomislav Nikolic about Serbia’s undetermined position is only adding to fallacy from the past due to which we went from defeat to defeat. Instead of acting like a serious statesman, he is jeopardizing, on a daily basis, national interests by distancing the state form the European path,” said Jovanovic.
He assessed that messages from Bundestag and Cuba show that there is confusion within authorities and “serious disharmony between the President, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs over the key strategic issues for future of the state”.
“We can’t expect respect and understanding from anyone in the world, neither they will look at us as on partners if we continue with undefined foreign policy. Only a lost man who found himself at the post of the president of Serbia can propose in 2015 a platform on Kosovo that has no counts based in reality, and send it through a post office to the prime minister and the minister for foreign affairs,” said Jovanovic.
According to him, platform on Kosovo is ‘yet another effort in distancing Serbia from Europe, and as a such it does not present the patriotic gesture, but a cowardice to see the reality and continue serious dialogue with Albanians”.
