LDK: CEC has no say in Isa Mustafa’s election

(Klan Kosova, KTV)

LDK and Isa Mustafa continue the open fight against civil society and anyone that disagrees with internal elections in this political party. In a long explanation issued for media, LDK qualified the calls for Central Elections Commission (CEC) to assess the legitimacy of Isa Mustafa’s election at the head of this party as absurd.

LDK said that civil society representatives came out openly against Isa Mustafa.

According to LDK, their convention was monitored by CEC and the United States Embassy.

“We welcome CEC’s role in monitoring the Convention, but it is not at the legal nature of CEC, which is composed of different parliamentarian political party representatives, to interfere in democratic elections processes of a political entity. It must be clear that LDK decides for elections in the Democratic League of Kosovo,” LDK underlined in its explanation.

In the meantime, one of the delegates of LDK’s 8th Convention, Rexhep Gjergji, said that pressure on delegates was big and they were even asked to make a photo of their hand watch when casting their vote for Isa Mustafa.

Zemaj says that he is against the term genocide in this bill, adding that this is one of the main disagreements. Zemaj said that under any circumstance the term genocide comes into contradiction with the constitution and the applicable laws.
