Kosovo Serbs are faced with problems when it comes to repossession of their properties, even in case when a court rules in their favor. Example of Slavica Djordjevic from Prizren shows that she is not allowed to enter her house unless she pays EUR 19.500 for the expenses a court proceeding that lasted for 15 years.
“Execution judge in Prizren said that their computer system is blocked and that he can’t check whether the respondent has funds to cover the expenses for execution of the court ruling, thus I will have to pay the sum,” said Djordjevic and added that she was told that she will lose her property if she doesn’t pay the said amount in 15 days.
