Most of the fighters active in war theaters of Syria and Iraq comes from Kosovo, indicates report prepared by Shpend Kursani from Pristina that was presented in Belgrade.
As stated, neglected groups are at the highest risk to fall prey to terrorists or Islamic state. Various factors influence their numbers, reads the report “Participation of volunteers from Kosovo at the battlefields in Syria and Iraq – Causes and Consequences”.
When looking at these figures on a per capita basis, Kosovo has 125 foreign fighters for every 1 million citizens, making it the highest ranking area followed by Bosnia with 85, and Albania with 30 foreign fighters per million citizens.
