Srpska List removes KAF from the agenda

(All monitored broadcasters, TV21&KTV)

The Assembly Presidency has postponed establishment of Kosovo Armed Forces (KAF) because Srpska List has requested revision of the Law. This has made opposition parties to leave the Assembly Presidency meeting, accusing the Government of intentionally prolonging the establishment of KAF.

Glauk Konjufca, the Vetëvendosje caucus leader, said that they did not agree with the fact that the ruling parties have taken constitutional amendments for establishment of Kosovo Armed Forces out of the agenda.

Following the Assembly Presidency meeting, the Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli said that KAF shall be established very soon. He also said that amendments for Special Court’s establishment will also be proceeded soon.

Meanwhile, the PDK caucus leader, Adem Grabovci said that he was wondering why the opposition is supporting KAF now.

Ismet Beqiri, the LDK caucus leader, said that this party supports KAF establishment, but he underlined that votes for it must be secured prior to its submission to the Assembly.

The Assembly’s session will be continued on Wednesday, while it will hold a regular session on Thursday.

Quoting Gazetablic, TV21 reported that Srpska List insists on fulfilment of the conditions set before establishment of the governing coalition. Gazetablic sources say that Srpska List has made it very clear to institutions that they will not vote the constitutional amendments for establishment of KAF before their four following conditions are met:

1)         Deputy-director of Kosovo Intelligence Agency should be a Serb;

2)         KSF deputy-commander should be a Serb;

3)         Annulment of privatisation process in Serb municipalities, including   Brezovica and Trepça; and

4)         Establishment of the Association of Municipalities with Serb majority.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Isa Mustafa denied that Srpska List is conditioning KAF establishment. Mustafa reacted in his Facebook account, where he wrote that: “Government does not have any conditioning for this transformation, but it considers that it should work with the whole political spectrum and MPs of entities representing non-majority community to ensure their support, as stipulated by the Constitution of Kosovo.”

Pejë/Pec municipality Serbs and Police discuss security issues

(RTK2)

Following a series of incidents in Pejë/Pec region, representatives of Serb villages in the Municipality of Pejë/Pec discussed security of communities in this municipality with police officials.

Teki Syla, deputy police station commander in Pejë/Pec and Acting Commander explained the steps that police took regarding recent incidents and their prevention. He said that police will not stop until perpetrators of these incidents will be brought to law.

Aside from the physical safety, Serb representatives emphasised that there are many security risks that police can impact on. They recommended employment of more Serb community members in Kosovo Police, which, according to them, would make the community feel safer and simultaneously decrease their unemployment.

Lieutenant Sylaj said that police are still searching for the Albanian citizen Agim Medani, whose photo was published in the media, for injuring the police officer during the recent incident in Gorazhdevc.

This debate was among many other ones held on Serb community issues in the municipality of Pejë/Pec which were supported by the OSCE Mission and organized by the nongovernmental organization Experimental Studio Group.

Klinë/Klina Serbs against naming a street after Natasa Kandic

(KTV, TV21)

Klinë/Klina municipality Serbs opposed through Bozidar Sarkovic, a Serb municipal councillor in Klinë/Klina, naming of a street in this town after human rights activist Natasa Kandic.

The community does not agree that the road should be named after Natasa Kandic, but after Nikola Tesla, as, according to them, Kandic does not have any values nor does she represents anything for the Serb community, Sarkovic said in the Klinë/Klina Municipal Assembly meeting.
