Thaçi: No recess until establishment of Special Court

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

PDK chairperson Hashim Thaçi said that the Assembly of Kosovo should not have recess before concluding the process of Special Court’s establishment. According to Thaçi, this process will conclude soon.

The same thing was also stated by the PDK deputy-chairperson and Assembly deputy speaker, Xhavit Haliti, who said that they are in communication with other political parties, as well as with the PDK MPs to convince them to vote in favour of the Special Court, but they still have no concrete results.

Haliti said that non-approval of the Special Court would cause an irreparable damage to Kosovo.

Vetëvendosje fails to pass resolution on EULEX

(Al monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Vetëvendosje MP, Albulena Haxhiu, proposed a resolution on EULEX for approval at the Assembly of Kosovo. Without debate, the Assembly room was abandoned by the two biggest political parties – PDK and LDK.

LDK caucus leader Ismet Beqiri said they did not support Vetëvendosje’s resolution, adding that LDK is interested to see each international mission do its job in professional manner.

On the other hand, PDK caucus leader Adem Grabovci criticized Vetëvendosje for proposing a resolution with less than half of MPs at the Assembly.

Nonetheless, debate at the Assembly continued even without PDK and LDK. Glauk Konjufca of Vetëvendosje said that affairs in EULEX are not ceasing. According to him, the most senior officials of this Mission have talked about these affairs. He said that fighting of corruption is the key failure of this Mission.

Jevtic: Kosovo does not need KAF; it has KFOR

(Klan Kosova)

Minister of communities and returns in the Kosovo Government, Dalibor Jevtic, came against establishment of Kosovo Armed Forces (KAF), saying that Kosovo does not need an army, as it has KFOR.

Nonetheless, he said that so far no one has discussed KAF issue with Srpska List.

On the other hand, Aleksandar Jablanovic, the Srpska List chairperson, told Serbian media that this List will not vote in favour of establishment of Kosovo Armed Forces be it in exchange of the Association of Serb Municipalities.

FOL: PDK would come as first party if elections were to be held within a week

(KTV)

If elections were to be held now, PDK would once again come as the first political party. This result is part of a poll that FOL Movement conducted in 38 Kosovo municipalities with 1.000 people.

“Initially, citizens were asked which party they would vote in case general elections were to be held in Kosovo within a week. Out of 100 per cent of respondents, 18.7% of them said they would vote for PDK, about 17.7% of respondents said they would vote for LDK, and about 16.6% would vote for Vetëvendosje Movement, 7% for AAK, while 3% would vote for Nisma për Kosovën,” said Fidan Kalaja of FOL Movement.

According to Kalaja, it is believed that about 17% of Kosovo citizens were asked to sell their vote during the last elections in Kosovo, in exchange of a service, money, or a gift.

This figure is considered alarming, as it shows that there are many citizens who can also sell their votes for a material benefit.

Jevtic calls upon institutions to identify murderers of Serb reapers

(RTK2)

The sixteenth anniversary of the crime in Staro Gracko/Grackë e Vjetër will be marked on Thursday.  During Wednesday’s meeting of Kosovo Government, the Minister for communities and return Dalibor Jevtic reminded that no one has yet been held responsible for the murder of 14 Serb reapers in this village.

Minister Jevtic, once again invited all institutions to make efforts in shedding light on the truth and bring perpetrators of this crime to law.

Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said that all crimes, including the murder of the reapers must be punished.

Jevtic also expressed his concern about the security situation in municipalities of Klinë/Klina, Pejë/Pec and Istog/Istok, in particular about the fact that, as Jevtic says, there is a particular group of people that aims to intimidate those that are returning to Kosovo.

PM Mustafa replied by saying that the Government is committed to solve this issue.

Finally, Jevtic said that since the beginning of July 2015 nine attacks against returnees have been marked, including the incident where a Kosovo Police officer got injured.

Kosovo Police is the most trusted institution

(Klan Kosova)

According to a poll conducted by the Kosovo Centre for Security Studies (KCSS), most of Kosovo citizens consider that politics have influence on Police, including the recruitment of police officers.

The poll was conducted between June and July 2015 with 1.221 respondents throughout the territory of Kosovo.
