Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) will join diplomatic struggle of the state for the protection of the Serbian heritage in Kosovo and Metohija, as it used to do in the past, said spokesman of the SPC Bishop Irinej in his respond to the call of the Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.
Bishop Irinej added that he can’t elaborate now in which way is SPC going to do it as that doesn’t depend on him, since he is only one of those who are going to decide about the matter, said Bishop Irinej in a communiqué forwarded to Tanjug.
Irinej has supported Dacic’s stand that admission of unilaterally declared independent Kosovo in UNESCO would be detrimental, and that it would be much more efficient if the state, Academy of Science (SANU) and Serbian Orthodox Church would act in a united fashion.
