Ljubomir Maric, Minister of Local Government Administration in Kosovo, announces that preparations for the statute of the Community / Association of Serbian municipalities commenced. The statute will be drafted in cooperation with lawyers and a team of international experts and first version will be ready soon.
Maric said that he expect the problems from Pristina side in the process of harmonizing the statute and estimated that the preparation of the statute will not require four months, as envisaged by the Brussels agreement. He also reminded that in June, several different drafts of the statute were handed over to the Brussels.
Maric announced that EPS (Power Supply Company) will begin with the establishment of two affiliated companies in northern Kosovo. Moreover he expects that within seven days the request for trade of electricity will be approved, while the request for the electricity supply should be approved till October.
When it comes to the registration of Telecom Serbia in Kosovo, he said that request for registration was submitted and that the approval should be received these days. After that period, functioning of the company will be established within three months, for which the deadline is December 15.
According to him, there will be problems with the implementation of the agreements reached in Brussels. He expressed willingness for cooperation with the international community, so that process would not be halted.
