The chairperson of the Serbian Parliament’s Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Milovan Drecun said to RTS that creation of association of Albanian municipalities is an extreme and unacceptable thing. In no way can any parallel be made with the Association/Community of Serb municipalities. The main goal is influence on the Brussels Agreement, claims Drecun.
Drecun said to RTS that it is unacceptable to announce the creation of any association of Albanian municipalities and to make such announcements in media without prior agreement with the relevant state bodies. He argues that politicians in southern Serbia are hostages of Pristina, and added that announced association of Albanian municipalities is carried out in agreement with Tirana.
Drecun stressed that announcements about the creation of association of Albanian municipalities has to do with local elections in Medvedja on Sunday, however, he added, the matter should not be treated as a short-term one. “The main goal is internalization of the issue of Presevo valley, in order that Albanian side is made the part and important factor in policy led by Hashim Thaci, and to influence the implementation of the Brussels Agreement,” concluded Drecun.
