Gračanica/Graçanicë Municipality has been rewarded with the first prize for achieved results and the second prize for improving relations among partner municipalities in the frame of the Project for decentralization and support to municipalities – DEMOS.
The prize was handed over to the Mayor of Gračanica/Graçanicë Municipality, Vladeta Kostić, at the ceremony in Pristina organized by the Swiss Government that will, through DEMOS, assist 17 municipalities in Kosovo and Ministry for Local Government Administration with CHF 10,7 million until 2016.
A communiqué issued by Gračanica/Graçanicë Municipality states that this municipality has achieved best results in collecting property taxes, which went up for 63 per cent in comparison with the previous year and second ranked municipality when it comes to improving services (collection of the waste and implementation of the auditor’s advice).
The Mayor of Gračanica/Graçanicë Municipality thanked Swiss Government for the support provided to local self-government, and stressed that provided funds will be used for implementation of projects that are in the residents’ interest.
