The Mayor of Gracanica, Vladeta Kostic, and head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Andrew Russell, yesterday signed a memorandum of cooperation to combat corruption in this municipality. Kostic said that this memorandum represents the beginning of a decisive war against corruption. “We must constantly combat this bad phenomena, because neither institutions nor individuals can move forward because of corruption. Given that the budget of Gracanica Municipality is limited, this is a big help for us, especially for the staff as they will be better prepared to come out victorious in the combat against corruption,” Kostic said. Meanwhile, the head of the UNDP, Andrew Russell, said that the process of combating corruption is difficult and it requires political will and planning.
