There is no word in the Brussels Agreement that speaks about abolishing Serbian state institutions in the province, says Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić.
“Provisional bodies of the Serbian state in the province won’t be abolished following creation of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities,” said Đurić to Politika, and refuted statement of the Kosovo Minister without portfolio in the Kosovo government in charge for the dialogue, Edita Tahiri, who said two days ago in Brussels that abolishing of parallel institutions is one of the provisions of the Brussels Agreement.
“What Edita Tahiri is saying has nothing to do with the Brussels Agreement. Functioning of the provisional bodies in Kosovo and Metohija was not the topic of discussion neither during the signing of the Brussels Agreement nor after it. Office for Kosovo and Metohija is present in all 29 provisional bodies, that is, in all municipalities in southern Serbian province. Their work is financed from the Serbian budget,” explained Đurić.
“What Edita Tahiri talks about, and Pristina-based media are writing about, refers foremost to provisional bodies of the Serbian state in Kosovo that have been created in the beginning of 2014. Their operation is in contradiction with the Brussels Agreement and I expect them to be gradually abolished in proportion with the dynamic of the creation of the A/CSM,” said political analyst and chairperson of the political party Active Serbia, Dušan Janjić.
