The Office of the State Prosecutor of Kosovo issued a press release today saying that it has initiated investigations against certain members of the Kosovo Assembly suspected of having committed criminal offences: “causing general danger” (Article 365 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo), and “use of weapon” (Article 375 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo). The news site reports that Vetevendosje MP Albin Kurti was arrested on Monday evening by Kosovo Police as part of investigations conducted by the Department of Serious Crimes regarding the recent events at the Kosovo Assembly. The State Prosecutor also notes in the press release that Kurti was interviewed in police premises in the presence of a defense attorney and was later released under regular procedure. Investigations are ongoing.
