Overall security situation related to communities was the main topic of discussion, as well as functioning of Local Public Safety Committees.

On the other hand, Ambassador Schlumberger informed Stojanovic with the OSCE activities in the field of safety and other activities that this international organization carries out within the framework of its mission.

Vetëvendosje MPs, Albin Kurti and Albulena Haxhiu, are being investigated for causing general danger and use of weapons. The Prosecution confirmed the investigation that was launched by the Serious Crimes Department of Prishtinë/Pristina Basic Court against these two members of Kosovo Assembly. Albin Kurti is the MP that has thrown and fired the teargas at 08 October’s session of the Assembly.

According to the Prosecution, they were forced to use the last option, which is to bring MP Kurti to the police station by force, as on last Friday he refused the written request that police left for him at his house.

Prosecution representatives said that they did not put any pressure on case prosecutor to decide about Kurti’s release.

Kosovo Police Director General, Shpend Maxhuni, qualified the force used by protesters on Monday night as extreme violence. Nonetheless, Maxhuni could not tell if police had a written arrest warrant for Kurti, not ruling out the chance that the warrant could have been only verbal by the prosecution.

Justice institutions are continuing to search for MP Albulena Haxhiu, but they still have not found her. She was not seen on Monday night, when the opposition parties were protesting for Kurti’s release.

Police has launched investigations into Monday night’s protest. As an outcome of this protest, the central police station in Prishtinë/Pristina was severely damaged, several official vehicles were burned, and private property was also damaged.

Jahjaga: Solution for the political crisis can be found at the Assembly

(RTK1)

President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, believes that there is still room for finding a solution at the Assembly for overcoming the political crisis.

In an interview with RTK1, Jahjaga said that deepening of the crisis should not be permitted. Otherwise, she said that a joint meeting of the wide political spectrum invited by her is not being planned.

Government regrets violence of the opposition parties

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Through a press release issued, the Government of Kosovo expressed its concern and regret about the violence carried out by militants of opposition parties on Monday night.

“The radical vandal acts infringe the law and order, work of independent public institutions, and great interests of Kosovo citizens,” reads the Government’s release.

It called on opposition parties to give up the anarchic actions and use of force against the institutions.

CDHRF: No written arrest warrant for Kurti

(KTV)

The Council for Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms (CDHRF) says that it got hold off the information that there was not written arrest warrant, but only a verbal warrant, at the moment of Albin Kurti’s arrest.

CDHRF seeks responsibility for all the ones that have caused escalation of the situation. It also called on leaders of the ruling and opposition parties to contribute to conciliation of the situation through political dialogue. The problem of political nature cannot be solved through violent means, CDHRF underlined.

Opposition to continue blocking Assembly sessions

There will either be withdrawal of signature from the Brussels’ Agreement, or the Government will fall down together with the Association. According to the opposition parties, there is no alternative to this.

This was stated by Glauk Konjufca of Vetëvendosje only a night after clashes with the police happened. Konjufca said that all other possibilities of talks with the Government have been exhausted and only the withdrawal of Brussels agreements and annulment of the demarcation agreement with Montenegro is the way out of this situation.

No matter that the opposition has collected about 200.000 signatures with its petition, and although they have mentioned massive protests, they were not able to tell why they are not calling these protests. They just said that civic dissatisfaction and opposition for the Association is increasing.

After Albin Kurti’s arrest, AAK called for resignations of Kosovo Police Director General and the Minister of Interior. They consider this as the first step for overcoming the situation created.

Meanwhile, in a Facebook posting Prime Minister Isa Mustafa strongly criticized the opposition.

“The ones that are pointing their finger and threatening have done everything … the Special Court, reserved seats for two mandates, generosity for minorities, continuation of dialogue and implementation of agreements. It is clear to me that LDK people have been murdered and threatened, but they never gave up. They have also threatened Ibrahim Rugova, many LDK activists were murdered, but the state-building spirit did not stop. You will not stop it either,” PM Mustafa wrote in his Facebook account.

The next session of the Assembly will also be blocked, although the ways that opposition has thought to block its works have not been told.

Ramush Haradinaj reacted immediately against PM Mustafa’s posting.

“I do not know what Isa Mustafa had in mind when he wrote his status on Facebook about the murder of LDK activists and threats against President Rugova, but even if he thought of my by any chance, as some media have interpreted it, this demonstrates his poltroonery,” Haradinaj said.

“I remind Mustafa that when I had gentlemen agreements with President Rugova, he was like a hyena against him, same as he is today, deeply against Ibrahim Rugova’s spirit, who would not forgive Rugova Mountains even in that world that he is now,” Haradinaj added.

Rakic considers reports on “Peace Park” removal false

(RTK2)

Although certain media outlets announced that removal of “Peace Park” will start on 15 October, the mayor of Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north municipality, Goran Rakic, told RTK2 that this is not true.

In order for this to happen, the southern and northern Mitrovicë/Mitrovica must sign a Memorandum of Understanding between them that would confirm delimitation of the two municipalities, he said.

Rakic also confirmed that according to the Brussels Agreement, the issue of maps, administrative lines, cadastral areas in Suhadoll and Kroi i Vitakut should be sorted out by 10 October 2015.

On the other hand, Mitrovicë/Mitrovica south mayor Agim Bahtiri told RTK2 that neither he nor Rakic can change municipal borders, as they were agreed with the Ahtisaari Plan.
