Serbian Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic said that he is convinced that amendment on particular positions related to the negotiation chapter 35, which became public, are subject to the correction. “We heard one side, but didn’t hear the other. Germany and United Kingdom are serious countries, as well our neighbour Croatia, and I think that it is realistic to withdraw the amendment. There is such a possibility, given the seriousness and responsibility of Serbia,” said Selakovic.

He says that the response of Serbia will be serious, responsible and will be known in the coming days. “Everything that is related to Chapter 35 is linked with the agreements reached in Brussels. If we will be dedicated, we will have more confidence of key countries, primarily Germany,” added Nikola Selakovic.

When it comes to Kosovo’s request for admission to UNESCO, Minister Selakovic points out that states which support Serbia’s position in UNESCO are expected to highlight the difficult position of Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija. “I expect that they will point out on desecration, destruction of churches, monasteries and cemeteries. The world public must know it. We will fight till the end, and that is our duty, though there is a possibility that the final outcome will not be in our favour,” says Minister of Justice Nikola Selakovic.
