Kosovo’s opposition parties stated that they do not intend to allow holding of the today’s Assembly session, called by the Assembly President Kadri Veseli, at 16:00 hours.
“It would not make sense to allow the works of the Assembly and normal functioning of the government, if the country is going towards ethnical division,” said Frasher Krasniqi, spokesperson of the Vetevendosje movement.
“We will continue our protest at the Assembly and we are determined to prevent holding of the session,” he said adding that the protest will continue until the agreements with Serbia and the one with Montenegro for demarcation of the border, are annulled. “These agreements are unacceptable because they harm the sovereignty and state functionality and they lose over 8000 hectares of Kosovo’s land,” Krasniqi said.
Asked what would happen if the police interfered to expel them from the Assembly, he said that this would represent something very dangerous. “Kadri Veseli, before and during the last session, armored the Assembly of Kosovo with guards and police. If police interference continues at the Assembly and if it eventually increases, this would represent an extremely harmful precedent for the democracy of the country. The police cannot enter the Assembly. This would have been unacceptable. This would extremely tension the situation,” Krasniqi said.
