A campaign aimed at gaining “international capacity” to Kosovo, in several directions, is currently under way, Milovan Drecun has said. Speaking to RTS, the chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Kosovo and Metohija from the ranks of the ruling SNS party said Belgrade was “facing a planned campaign.”

“It represents an attempt to move from the freezing point toward gaining international capacities of the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo in several directions, toward UNESCO, as the part of the UN System, Interpol and Council of Europe,” Drecun said. According to him, the campaign has been launched after the Brussels agreement was reached on the creation of Association/Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO), and the formation of a special court for war crimes – with the goal of “providing some satisfaction to Pristina in order to justify, in front of the Albanian public, what has been accepted.” He also voiced expectation that Kosovo wont’ be admitted to UNESCO.
