EU representatives said that amendments of the Stabilization Association Agreement, which is signed with Kosovo, are not possible. There is no dilemma for the EU, the only valid SAA with Kosovo is the one which Brussels offered and both sides have signed, with asterisk near Kosovo, which doesn’t prejudice the status of Kosovo. “We have published the SAA already in April,’ said spokesperson of the EU High Representative Maja Kocijančič.

Slavko Simić, the head of the Serbian List caucus in the Kosovo parliament, explained to Novosti that ahead of the parliament’s session, Committee for European integration proposed amendment which would put Republic of Kosovo instead of Kosovo with the footnote. The  speaker of the parliament had proposed that amendment is voted in a package with the SAA what was opposed by Simić, after what voting has been carried out separately for the SAA and for the amendment, whereas, explained Simić, SAA has remained the status neutral.

When asked why the MPs from the Serbian List abstained during voting and did not vote against the amendment, Simić explained that politics is about wise reaction and bringing decisions that won’t irritate other MPs.
