Serbian Ambassador to UNESCO Darko Tanaskovic said that it is certain that Serbia today would  become a member of the UNESCO’s executive council.

Tanaskovic explained that all UNESCO member states are divided in a number of election groups which have certain number of places in the executive council, and that the group to which  Serbia belongs has four candidates for four places. Tanaskovic further said that this UNESCO body is a bit big and is not sufficiently operational, albeit it is important to be part of it because entire activities, of practical nature, carried out between two sessions of the General Conference are actually articulated through this body.
