In late October, the Kosovo Government approved a draft budget for next year, which amounts to approximately one billion euros. The draft budget which was approved caused dissatisfaction of the opposition and representatives of Serbs in the Kosovo Government.

“We didn’t participate in the census and that is a huge problem, because the numbers according to which the budget was calculated are far away from the reality. This is one part of the problem; the second part is that there is no political will to increase these budgets,” said Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic.

Minister of Local Government Administration Ljubomir Maric is not satisfied with the approved funds for the following year when it comes to the ministry which he manages. He claims that requirements related to the budget and suggested by the Serbian representatives are not met.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Communities and Returns has identical budget as in 2015, which is € 6,400,000, and will try to provide additional funds for return through regional cooperation, especially with the help of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo.
