Kosovo Minister for Local Self- Government Ljubomir Maric said that the Serbs in Kosovo were intimidated and afraid that the riots in Pristina might spill over into areas with Serbian majority.

He told Vecernje Novosti that the events in Pristina were internal conflict within the Albanian community, but that one should respond promptly to these events, because that could lead, as he said, to destabilization of the situation in Kosovo.

Despite opposition from the opposition, Maric says that the Community of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) will be formed and that there was no dilemma over it.

Speaking about the procedure for assessing the constitutionality of the agreement on the formation of the ZSO, Maric said that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo did not sign the agreement, but that it was commitment made by the prime ministers, with guarantees of the EU.

“The agreement defines the rights, obligations and deadlines for all parties. The ZSO will be formed, do not have a dilemma,” said Maric.
