Mustafa to opposition: You should wait for Constitutional Court’s verdict

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Kosovo Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, again called the opposition parties for dialogue and invited them to return to the institutions. Once again, he made the invitation through media at a press conference staged on Tuesday.

He said that he wants to address to the political rivals of the Government and invite them to discuss in the temple of democracy, at the Assembly. Mustafa also underlined that the violent protest does not merit the civil support.

PM Mustafa did not comment the proposed plan of MPs Ilir Deda and Vjosa Osmani, saying that he saw that proposal only in the media, however he commended the initiative.

He also pledged that if the Constitutional Court rules that the Agreement on the Association is not in compliance with the Constitution, then the Agreement will not be implemented but it will returned to Brussels.

Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said that he was not informed about the visit of Chief-of-staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Ljubisa Dikovic, in Kosovo.

While for the opposition protest scheduled for 28 November, Mustafa said that he hopes the protest will be peaceful but he noted that those demonstrating violence will face the law and not politics.

Mustafa also said that he has asked the EU to offer professional support on the agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro and same request will be addressed to the U.S.

Later on, AAK through a press statement, welcomed Mustafa’s proposal about the demarcation with Montenegro and expressed readiness to cooperate about this issue, but they presented some conditions.  AAK demanded from PM to dismiss the current Government’s commission on border demarcation, to devalue the work of the commission and later to establish a new commission consisting of international and domestic experts.

On the other hand, in a press release, Kosovo Government’s commission on border demarcation with Montenegro said that it concluded its duty in accordance to the set rules and did not harm Kosovo’s interest.

Appeals Court upholds detention sentence to MP Kadaj-Bujupi

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

AAK MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi will continue to remain in detention for another three weeks at least. The Court of Appeal turned down the appeal of Bujupi’s lawyer, Arianit Koci, considering it as ungrounded.  Amongst the reasons, the Court mentioned is the risk that if the Kadaj-Bujupi is released, she might repeat the criminal act.

AAK reacted against the decision of the Court of Appeal, considering it as a political decision. According to AAK, Mustafa and Thaçi are pushing Kosovo to even a more serious crisis.

O’Connell calls upon opposition to return to the Assembly

(TV21)

United Kingdom Ambassador to Kosovo, Ruairi O’Connell called upon opposition parties to give up violence and return to the Assembly. He said that no one should step on institutions that Kosovo build with so much sacrifice.

O’Connell said that all political parties should make use of the President’s initiative for dialogue and find a compromise. He underlined that Kosovo has no time to loose from the political blockade, because according to him, many challenges await Kosovo.

Osmani and Deda continue to seek support for their plan

(KTV)

MPs who initiated a plan to overcome the current political crisis at the Assembly, Vjosa Osamni and Ilir Deda are expecting by the end of this week a positive answer from the President Atifete Jahjaga to overcome the political deadlock in Kosovo.

During an interview with the KTV show “Rubikon” Deda said that he and Osmani are expected to conclude talks with all relevant stakeholders in order to strengthen their plan, which according to Deda might be amended, but as he said, the ultimate aim is to bring together all political leaders of Kosovo.

He also said that with this plan they wanted to show that if there is will there is a solution.

Grass: Kosovo not a target of ISIS

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Chief of the US National Guard Bureau, General Frank Grass, who is visiting Kosovo, said that Kosovo is not an ISIS target. On Tuesday, General Grass held a lecture in Prishtinë/Pristina on current security challenges in the world.

Grass underlined the importance of international cooperation on fighting terrorism because, as he said, no one is immune from terrorist attacks.

Asked about Kosovo Security Force (KSF), General Grass said that KSF is ready to become an army.

“KSF is ready to become an army, in case the decision for amendment of the institution is taken,” General Grass said.

No imminent terrorist threats in Kosovo

(KTV)

Following the terrorist attacks in Paris some of the EU countries have stepped up security measures. France and Belgium placed highest terror alert following the deadly attacks, while this state of alert has not been placed by some neighboring countries.

However, Kosovo is on alert and institutions recommend avoiding public gatherings, sportive activities and night clubs.

However, this action seems odd because only few days ago, Kosovo minister of Interior Affairs, Skender Hyseni, stated that there is no imminent threat to Kosovo.

Bashkim Zeqiri of the Balkan Institute for Financial Research (BIFR) considers the recent actions of security institutions as political rather than concrete actions to prevent terrorist acts.

Burim Ramadani, former member of the Assembly Committee for oversight on Kosovo Intelligence Agency, considers as scandalous the messages related to the risk of terrorist attacks. He considers as reasonable the increase of security measures but called upon the institutions to be cautious when addressing to the public and not create panic.

On the other hand, opposition considers the alarm for terrorism threats as a tendency of the Government to intimidate the citizens not to join the manifestation organized by the opposition parties on 28 November.
