Jahjaga: Kosovo in Brdo-Brioni summit, equal to the other countries

Kosovo President, Atifete Jahjaga, after returning from Brdo-Brioni summit, which was held in Zagreb, highly assessed Kosovo’s participation in this summit. She did not want to comment the behaviour of the Serbian President, Tomislav Nikolic, who ignored President Jahjaga by turning his back, while Jahjaga was signing the joint statement of this summit in Zagreb.

Jahjaga said that it is important that Kosovo was represented equally with all other participating countries.

Also political commentators considered as a positive step the participation of Kosovo in this summit.

Bavaria to support Kosovo’s economic development

Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, during the second day of his visit in Germany, was hosted by the Prime Minister of the Land of Bavaria, Horst Seehofer, The latter commended the excellent relations between the two countries and emphasized that the relations should be strengthen even more, particularly in the economic cooperation, the Office of the PM Mustafa announced.

Seehofer also spoke about the possibility of the travel for Kosovars and their potential employment in Germany.

“We have created real employment opportunities for Kosovars in Germany. This has happened in the meantime and these legal opportunities are in the interests of both countries,” Seehofer said.

On the other hand, PM Mustafa said the Government of Kosovo fully supports the measures that Bavaria took to return Kosovo citizens that came to Germany as asylum seekers.

Opposition reassures that the manifestation will be peaceful

Unified opposition parties request the dismissal of the Government’s commission on border demarcation with Montenegro, in order to say that at least one of their requests has been respected by the Government of Kosovo. But even if this happens, they say that they would not return to the Assembly until the agreement on the Association is annulled and Kosovo Deputy PM Hashim Thaçi takes the legal responsibility for it.

The three opposition leaders in KTV show “Rubikon” considered as a partial victory the suspension of the Association, but they state that the danger is imminent until that agreement is not annulled in general.

They jointly called upon Kosovo citizens to join to the first manifestation of the unified opposition on 28 November to oppose the disputable agreements.

They emphasized that the manifestation will be peaceful and festive.

On the other hand RTK2 reported that Kosovo Ministry of Interior Affairs and Kosovo Police started to implement the operational plan for the manifestation of the opposition scheduled for 28 November, which impleis increase of security measures in Prishtinë/Pristina and in Serb majority areas.

Final preparations of the opposition ahead of 28 November protests

On Thursday, opposition parties’ activists held a symbolic action in Prishtinë/ Prisina. Activists placed a big flag in the building of Grand Hotel in Prishtinë/Pristina, with the message ‘On 28 November, we manifest for the Republic, against the Association and the agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro”.

Representatives of three political parties urged all citizens to participate in the peaceful manifestation of 28 November against the agreements which, according to them are harmful for Kosovo.

On other hand, on the occasion of 28 November, AAK MP, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, addressed a letter to Kosovo citizens from prison.

MP Kadaj-Bujupi called upon citizens to protest peacefully, with dignity, full of pride and determination about their cause.

Kelani: Police to arrest MPs if they appear in 28 November rally

Kosovo Police spokesperson Baki Kelani, said that the MPs for whom there are arrest-warrants have been issued, can be arrested by the police if they appear in the opposition’s rally on 28 November or in any other environment.

“Kosovo police is obliged to implement all arrest warrants,” Kelani said. He said Kosovo Police is determined to provide safety and security for all the citizens.

Jahjaga visited the Rehabilitation Centre for Mothers and Children

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga visited the Rehabilitation Centre for Mothers and Children in Prishtinë/Pristina and saw the work and the conditions of this Centre, which supports the torture survivors and persons that were abused and tortured during the last conflict in Kosovo.

Jahjaga was impressed with the psychosocial treatment that centre offers for rehabilitation and with the work of the staff.

The director of this centre, Flora Brovina, informed President Jahjaga with the activities carried out at this centre and with the problems they are facing. Brovina said that they have presented to President Jahjaga, the files of 520 cases of sexual abuses, committed by Serbian forces during the last conflict, adding that the perpetrators of these abuses have not yet faced the justice.

Badivuku released on bail

Court released the Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, Vahide Badivuku, after she paid EUR 10,000 bail.

During Thursday, she pleaded not guilty in the first session against her since the indictment for misuse of duty and bribery was filed against. Together with Badivuku, Idriz Kelmendi and Isak Smakolli are also accused. Only the latter admitted his guilt
