EU lives two realities. One is in our declarations, where everything is all right, and the other one on the ground where nothing is well. We say that there is Schengen regime. “Schengen” implies the protection of borders, that no one can enter, and that we do not know who he is and why he comes. Does it exist in reality? It does not exist.

Thus Miroslav Lajcak, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia speak for the daily Politika on the migrant crisis and the European response to the crisis.

Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak notes for the daily that Serbia has a strong ranking and it solves problems now instead of being a part of the problem. The government has showed that it is serious about EU integration and that it sincerely wants to implement reforms, Lajcak told Belgrade-based daily Politika.

He says that, commenting Angela Merkel’s comparison of Balkans with a powder keg, all of us, not only the Balkans, live in an unstable time. The things are happening for which we would have said that are impossible. So no longer can be said a stable Europe and an unstable Balkans.

When asked whether Slovakia will change its stance on Kosovo, Lajcak said that the attitude was based on the Parliament decision, that did not change and thus denied rumours that Slovakia was about to recognize Kosovo.

– In Slovakia, there is no and no one’s request for recognition of Kosovo. We follow the dialogue in Brussels but we do not trade with the issue – says Miroslav Lajcak, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia.
