During a press conference, staged on Sunday, Vetëvendosje deputy chairperson, Aida Durguti, said that they determined to continue with protests against the Government. According to her, the Government of Kosovo has violated the highest legal act of Kosovo, the Constitution.

Moreover, Durguti requested from Police to stop the arrest of Vetëvendosje activists.

“On 9 January, Kosovo citizens will massively protest against this criminal Government that works only for the interests of Serbia. Therefore, until the removal of this Government, I call upon Police to disobey the orders that are illegal, political and governmental for arresting of our activists that defended Kosovo”, Durguti said.

Durguti once again said that Vetëvendosje is not carrying out the torching of official vehicles of Kosovo institutions and urged police to find the perpetrators at the earliest time possible.

Serbia constructs 300 houses for Serbs in the north

(RTK1)

While Albanians from the north of Kosovo are not allowed to reconstruct their houses in the north, the Serbian Government is investing heavily in construction of collective buildings aiming to return Serbs in this part.

Besides Albanians, this issue concerns several Serb residents of Mitrovicë/Mitrovica.

Milan Antanasevic, a Serb resident of Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north said that Serbian government has constructed enough collective buildings for internally displaced persons from Prizren, Gjakovë/Djakovica and Suharekë/ Suva Reko, but, according to him Serbs from Serbia are settling in Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north, too.

“I don’t know why they move down here, but I suppose that they want to get as many properties as possible”, Antanasevic said.

Moreover, he urges his compatriots to release the usurped properties of Albanians, and enable their return to their own properties.

According to Nazim Ismajli, a representative of Albanians from the north, all the problems in the north are caused by Serbians that are not from Mitrovica/Mitrovicë but came after the conflict from different parts of the former Yugoslavia.

However, soon around 1,500 Serb citizens will move to Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north after Serbian Government announced that it has financed the construction of 300 houses for Serbs.
