The news site reports that opposition parties are still adamant to block the upcoming sessions of the Kosovo Assembly. The Vetevendosje Movement, the biggest opposition party, said that the opposition has no reason to change its approach and that it is the government that should change. Vetevendosje spokesman Frasher Krasniqi said: “Over 200,000 citizens have signed the petition against the Association [of Serb-majority Municipalities] and the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. The Constitutional Court has ruled that the Association is against the spirit of the Constitution. The biggest protest in the post-war period was held on Saturday, whereas the Mustafa-Thaci government continues to insist on implementing the Association and the border demarcation”. Krasniqi said the opposition bloc does not want any tensions. “This is why we call on the government to reflect, withdraw the agreements and resign. If the government fails to take into account the will of the people, then we will act more firmly against it,” he added. The Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), a member of the opposition bloc, too blames the government for blocking the work of the Assembly. NISMA senior member Bilall Sherifi told the news site that the Kosovo government signed two detrimental and anti-constitutional agreements. “The actions of the opposition were aimed at forcing the government to withdraw from these governments. Our goal was not to prevent the work of the Assembly, but rather to force the government to reflect. This is why we say that the responsibility falls on the government,” Sherifi said. He further argued that after the ruling of the Constitutional Court, the Assembly should meet and announce early elections. “The ruling of the Constitutional Court has confirmed the cause of the opposition. Any tendency to play deaf or blind to this new reality will further aggravate the political crisis … I can confirm that we will not give up from protesting”.
