The incident in the vicinity of Visoki Decani Monastery has shown that people who were there at the time were undoubtedly faced with danger and a terrorist threat, no matter how the case was described by the Kosovo Police, declared Chairperson of the Serbian Parliament’s Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Milovan Drecun, today.
He reiterated that this incident is also proof of the presence of a powerful and well organized regional network of radical Islamism, extremism and terrorism in Kosovo. “This network has been operating for a long time now. Unfortunately its existence was covered up at the beginning by the international community,” said Drecun. He went on to say that this incident indicates that the time has maybe come of radical Islamists focusing their attention on the Christian Orthodox population, in other words, on Serbs and that for this reason the international community and Kosovo Police should be more vigilant in the future.
